All For One

Anthony Gormley and Comic Relief teamed up to create a new charity event One For All. On 29th May 2008 in Yokohama, Japan, 482 people came together to spontaneously make an image of a human being as an act of collective conscience in support of those around the world without a voice.

The project sought to highlight the plight of people living in poverty around the world and coincided with TICAD (Tokyo International Conference for African Development), which informed the agenda of the G8 summit held in Japan from 6 – 8 July the same year.

Comic Relief asked me to create an animated ident and accompanying music for broadcast during the run-up to the event. The ident reflects the narrative of the event by showing thousands of disparate particles coming together to form the shape of a Kanji painted by Gormley himself.
